Lawless Aloha Teriyaki Beef Jerky
I’ve been looking forward to this day ever since I bought the bag in the Atlanta airport. Ok so it’s only been 3 days; however, that’s a long time when you’re a beef jerky enthusiast like me. I love Hawaiian style beef jerky. Actually, I love Hawaiian teriyaki anything. I would eat, and enjoy, particle board if it was soaked in teriyaki long enough.
Lawless Aloha Teriyaki Beef Jerky looks like a beef jerky that I can sink my teeth into. Let’s tear into the bag and find out.
Well Hello Teriyaki
Hello Teriyaki, as the name suggests. Or is it goodbye? Hm. In either case the anticipation has been building; consequently, maybe too much. I found this jerky to be very mild. Almost too mild; However, that’s not to say that I didn’t enjoy it. I just thought it was interesting that their tag line is “A Bolder Flavor”, but this, as good as it is, just isn’t bold. It definitely does have that Hawaiian teriyaki taste though. It’s very similar to the Jack Links Mahalo Teriyaki that I reviewed a while back. It also has the sweetness of teriyaki. It’s the combination of the sugar, the pineapple concentrate and the soy sauce alone that makes it a very Polynesian style jerky. Included in the ingredients list is “natural flavors” so no one will know for sure what these natural flavors are, but that’s what make this jerky uniquely Lawless’ flavor profile.
I’ve always liked the Lawless brand packaging for their beef jerky, thus, the Lawless Aloha Teriyaki is nor different. From the first time that I saw it I thought it was unique, pouch-like and in general very clever. They were one of the first brands, that I noticed, moving away from the traditional black plastic beef jerky bag to a more customized gourmet looking package. In the beginning I think the bags were made from paper products, I’m not sure, but this bag that I have in front of me is plastic. It still looks like paper though.

It’s worth noting that the ingredients in this jerky are awesome. There is no sodium nitrate or any other chemicals for that matter. The beef is 100% grass-fed. As a result it’s a beef jerky that you can eat, enjoy and not have to worry about any artificial preservatives.
Would I buy this beef jerky again? Indeed I would.
With that, I’ll just say, overall the Lawless Aloha Teriyaki Beef Jerky is ‘Ono (look it up) and oh yeah, Aloha.
